June 30^th: Main Streets Make Us Better Block Party

You don’t need to wait for the Fourth of July to get in the party spirit! This past month, our city of DeLand won the “America’s Main Streets” contest, taking top honors as the country’s best main street attraction… and if you’ve ever spent any amount of time exploring the charm of Downtown DeLand, you know why!

We feel like celebrating this amazing recognition—and you’re invited to the party! From 6 to 9 pm on Friday, June 30^th, we’ll be at Indiana Avenue celebrating this accomplishment the best way we know how: a community block party. Come by to enjoy great giveaways, photo opportunities, and live music courtesy of the Beach Boys Revue Tribute Band! There will also be an award presentation for the contest. As a DeLand resident, you’re part of what makes our main street and town so great, so you deserve to take part in the festivities!

July 1^st: Firecracker Festival

Don’t put away your party hat just yet. The following day, on July 1^st, DeLand is hosting its famous Firecracker Festival at Earl Brown Park. Get here at 5 pm for a great seat on the lawn to listen to Motown Magic. There will also be some delicious food to enjoy and, of course, the main attraction: a fireworks spectacular! This is the kind of community event the whole family will want to attend, as there’s something to enjoy for all.
